Our Messerschmitt 109-E was
commissioned in September 2013 and built by
GateGuards UK Ltd. The
aircraft took over 3 years to build from scratch using original
plans and by creating moulds from original parts where possible.
Built on a frame, the aircraft is a mixture of fibreglass and

The aircraft has been finished in the
colours of the Luftwaffe's Jagdgeschwader 51 (JG 51), a unit based
in the early months of the war in the West, fighting in the Battle
of France and the Battle of Britain against the RAF. The
emblem on the fuselage, the so-called "Weeping Raven" or "Raven with
a Cold" was introduced by the 2./JG 71 without an inscription, which
was added when it subsequently became the II./JG 51's Gruppen emblem, reading:
"May God Punish England". The emblem is believed to
be a caricature of British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain who
was often referred to as the 'umbrella man' by the press before
being succeeded by Winston Churchill.
This exceptionally rare aircraft is now available with
optional living history display featuring Luftwaffe pilots and groundcrew.
